Saatzucht Düdingen adopts E-VITA technology

Electron treatment as a future solution for healthy seeds

The Saatzucht Düdingen Cooperative is investing in the future of agriculture. As the first company in Switzerland, it will rely on the physical E-VITA technology – an innovative process designed to combat fungal, bacterial, and viral seed-borne diseases. With this step, Saatzucht Düdingen is taking on a pioneering role in sustainable and forward-looking seed treatment in Switzerland.

The electron treatment helps to ensure the long-term quality and vitality of seeds, while at the same time supporting resource-efficient and chemical-free production. In Germany, the process is already being used on a large scale and continues to grow in importance.

E-VITA GmbH is the world’s only manufacturer offering compact high-performance systems for the electron treatment of seed. These systems are available in various throughput classes. In Switzerland, the latest version of the system, the EV-260S, will be used for the first time. At just six metres in length, it is only half the size of the mobile model EV-260M. The EV-260S can process up to 26 tonnes of grain per hour and offers outstanding energy and resource efficiency.

Starting in summer 2026, E-VITA-treated seed will be available in Switzerland directly through Saatzucht Düdingen.
